Pure ghee is a clarified butter that plays an important role in Ayurvedic cooking and is used for cooking, roasting, baking, braising and steaming. The organic milk for our ghee comes from grazing cows in the Bavarian Prealps, which, unlike high-yielding cows, produce only half the amount of milk.
Our ghee, which is traditionally made from cream yogurt, is therefore of very high quality and very special and should be used sparingly.
In Ayurveda, when preparing many dishes like curries, dal and soups, spices are first sautéed in ghee to open them up and make them more aromatic.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Ghee is a natural product. At room temperature it may be part solid and part liquid. When changing from a liquid to a solid state, granular structures may appear due to fat crystallization processes. These structures are characteristic of the product and in no way alter its quality.
